GMBPF 2017 Opens on 28 July with Guangdong & Macao Delicacies Express Bringing in a Gourmet Journey

Jointly organised by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute and Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, ‘Guangdong and Macao Branded Product Fair 2017’ (GMBPF 2017) is scheduled to take place at the Convention and Exhibition Centre Hall B, The Venetian Macao, from 28-30 July. This year, the GMBPF will continue to be held as a carnival-style event embracing trade, cultural exchanges, shopping, leisure and entertainment, offering merchants and consumers a variety of quality products from Guangdong and Macao, while creating more opportunities for the development of trade and brands of the participating enterprises. With the new Myanmar Products Exhibition & Sales Area being introduced this year, the exhibition will bring in more quality products from the countries along the ‘Belt and Road’ and further strengthen trade and economic co-operation between Guangdong and Macao.

GMBPF proves successful in trade and economic co-operation between Guangdong and Macao with exhibition quality being enhanced

Under the policies of ‘The Outline of the Plan for the Reform and Development of the Pearl River Delta’, ‘Framework Agreement on Co-operation Between Guangdong and Macao’ and the ‘Agreement between the Mainland and Macao on Achieving Basic Liberalisation of Trade in Services in Guangdong’, there has always been a close regional co-operation between Guangdong and Macao. With the support of the country’s strategies including the ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative and ‘Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area’, Guangdong and Macao are now welcoming significant opportunities for regional collaboration and development, with economic and trade co-operation being the highlight among others.

The economic and trade co-operation between Guangdong and Macao has always been close. They have been complementing each other with their advantages, developing and optimising many projects in various fields. In terms of the MICE industry, they have already established a long term co-operation mechanism, with GMBPF proven to be a successful example which has gained wide acceptance and popularity from the governments and commerce and industry sectors in Guangdong and Macao, making it a popular annual brand exhibition in the industry.

Diverse products from different regions to enrich the variety of product options

For the first time, GMBPF has gathered quality and featured products from Guangdong, Macao, Myanmar and Indonesia with various promotions, gifts and events. This year, Guangdong province has organised 135 participating enterprises, taking on 194 booths showcasing food products, daily necessities, household goods and gifts. Many of the participating enterprises have obtained the titles of ‘Famous Chinese Brands’, ‘Notable Trademarks of China’ and ‘Famous Brands of Guangdong Province’, ensuring confidence in the quality of the products and providing opportunities for everyone to take their pick.

Whereas the ‘Macao Featured Products Exhibition & Sales Area’ features 107 participating enterprises showcasing products mainly ‘Made in Macao’, ‘Macao Brands’, ‘Designed in Macao’, Macao cultural and creative products and products from Portuguese-speaking Countries with Macao enterprises as agents, helps to expand the market for local small and medium enterprises and heightens the recognition of their products and services.

In addition, the return of the ‘Indonesian Products Exhibition & Sales area’ and the new ‘Myanmar Products Exhibition & Sales Area’ will offer you choices from countries along the ‘Belt and Road’, with 30 and 14 respective enterprises from Myanmar and Indonesia participating in the exhibition. By introducing these featured enterprises from other countries, GMBPF offers a diverse shopping experience for everyone and demonstrates its advantage of playing the role of an important platform for the ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative.

Enjoy food from different eras by boarding the Guangdong & Macao Delicacies Express

Apart from purchasing products from different regions, GMBPF has always given you the opportunity to eat, shop and have fun. This year, the event will focus on the eating culture of Guangdong and Macao, using ‘Guangdong & Macao Delicacies Express’ as the theme to present you food from the past, present and future. Following the success of the ‘Guangdong & Macao’s Vintage Shopping Street’ last year, ‘Station Avenue’ will be introduced this year a series of events including advanced technology 3D printed food tasting, custom-made creative gifts on the spot, the challenging Station Maze and VR roller coaster ‘Adventure Tour’. In addition, large installations such as sweet carousel, macaron Ferris wheel and other fun installations will be set up for visitors to take photos.
